From Motwon boy band to Motab Soloist

What: Alex Boye chronicles how he got to where he is and where he sees himself going. He joined the church when he was 16 (after meeting with sister missionaries), served a mission, joined a successful European boy band called "Awesome," and eventually found his place in the Mormon Tabernacle Choir.

Quote: "'Being in the choir was difficult and intimidating at first,' said Boyé, one of three black singers in the group. 'I felt out of place. So many times, I wasn't going to come back, but I kept going. After a while, I felt a connection to the choir members. Even though we're from different backgrounds, we're all shooting for the same goal -- using music to bring souls to Christ.' "

Reaction:
Awesome (and I don't mean the boy band).

  1. Alex sang two solos with the MoTab last week on the 1 1/2 hour 80th year celebration. He was amazing!
