Conversions Happening in China Despite Ban on Proselyting

What: As Jon Huntsman gets ready to become ambassador to China, Mormons in China speak out.

Quote: "Thursday, through an interpreter, 2News interviewed two people who say they converted to Mormonism in China. 'They feel this church is really good for their family,' said the interpreter. They spoke of gathering on Sundays in an apartment, but when questioned about why there were no chapels, the interpreter became uncomfortable and wanted to stop the discussion."

Reaction: A while back in a missionary preparation class, my instructor pointed out that the people of China have a huge interest in genealogy and ancestry, and predicted that their interest in that important area would be a factor in conversions when China is finally opened up to missionary work. Interesting idea.
